Wilmington Property Taxes to Drop Next Year

In the terrible economic climate that most people find themselves in this year, the residents of Wilmington, Massachusetts are getting a bit of good news. They recently learned that next year, their homeowners taxes will decrease, thanks to a $44 million increase in nonresidential property values. Unfortunately, many of the towns surrounding Wilmington will see tax increases in 2009. Wilmington will get the decrease, because its center just saw the completion of a new strip mall. Residents of neighboring towns may be upset, but they must realize that this is due to the rapidly fluctuating economy.

Many people are frustrated with the increases in their homeowners taxes this year, and many more will be upset next year. If you feel that you are paying too much, you may be able to dispute your payment. Contact the seasoned tax attorneys at Kerstein, Coren & Lichtenstein LLP for more details.
