New Law to Close Boston Public Pools
Every pool except for one in the Boston area have closed, because they lack the proper drain covers required by a recently passed federal law. Any publicly owned or utilized pool must close, until these drain covers can be installed. Each year, people die in swimming pools, because their clothing or their hair gets caught in the drain. They are held under the water, and if left unnoticed, will drown. The new drain cover will prevent many of these injuries from occurring, but the process of installing them may take time and a great deal of tax money.
Most of the pools are expected to remain closed until the new year. If you or someone you love are injured in a public place, because of faulty or outdated equipment, you have the right to press charges against your local or state government.
