EDUCATION LAW: STUDENT REPRESENTATION
Kerstein, Coren & Lichtenstein assists students of all ages in the areas of special education, school discipline, suspensions, expulsions, bullying and student rights, including the right to be free from discrimination and sexual harassment.
We have also successfully represented those who have been wrongfully expelled or excluded from their schools, as well as those who wish to challenge a suspension or other school-imposed discipline. Our firm also assists parents whose children are victims of school bullying or have their student rights violated in other ways.
Some children are entitled to special education services under Massachusetts law as well as Federal Law (the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) due to a learning or physical disability. We help parents navigate the world of individualized education plans (IEP’s) and Section 504 Plans, including attendance at Team meetings, in an effort to ensure that students receive the education to which they are entitled. Our attorneys at Kerstein, Coren & Lichtenstein have lectured and authored in the area of special edcation law and can help parents and their children through this emotionally difficult process. |
