Massachusetts Probate Law
Kerstein, Coren & Lichtenstein, LLP has assisted many families with the quick and cost effective settling of the estate of a deceased relative. Many estates are settled with a minimum of time and legal cost. It is true that settling an estate inevitably involves some amount of paper work, time and effort, but In our experience most estates involving families where the members get along and are not suspicious of each other can be a relatively expeditious and cost effective. In our experience, the vast majority of estate settlements are much more placid and much less costly than you might think after reading a legal thriller or Charles Dickens.
On the other hand, there may be estate settlement situations - or trust situations - where there are complications involving particular assets or taxes. Even more unhappily, there are sometimes estate settlement or trust situations where the death of a key family member "unsticks" the glue that has held the family together and intra-family disputes arise over the estate or the trust. In those unhappy situations it is usually important to consult an attorney to try to determine one's rights, to try to map out a path of action and to try to get a sense of what might or might not be cost effective.
Our firm has had experience with both simple and difficult estate and trust situations. In most cases we can be available to consult on your particular matter. |
